Enter your dog in our UGLY SWEATER CONTEST
Plus GAMES, CHALK ART, & MORE
Bring TOYS, TOWELS, & PET FOOD to drop off at the ACC PET SUPPLY DRIVE – the Mobile Adoption Truck will be accepting collections until 5pm. (more details below)
LIVE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES by:
Councilmember SHAUN ABREU of NYC Council District 7 will be joining the festivities.
Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) will be there with their MOBILE ADOPTION TRUCK with adoptable dogs and cats looking for their forever homes.
Only select animals will attend Barking Day, but you can view ALL adoptable animals available from the ACC in advance on their Adoption Search page.
PET ADOPTIONS are on a first-come-first-served basis. Their lines typically start about 1 hour prior to the event’s start.

To help ensure a smooth process, complete a general adoption application in advance:
ADOPTION FEES:
ACC waives fees for military vets & seniors adopting senior pets.
Adopters with an IDNYC card receive $25 off adoption fees.
Dogs & Puppies:
- 6 mos & under: $250
- 7 mos & over: $75
- Small dogs (20lbs & Under) 7 mos & over: $150
*NYC residents must purchase $8.50 – $34 dog license
Cats & Kittens:
- 6 mos & under: $175
- 7 mos – 4 years: $75
- 5 years & over: $25
- Two Kittens: $200
ACC provides a comprehensive adoption package that includes:
- Spaying or neutering your new pet
- Initial wellness vaccinations
- Certificate for a free exam a participating veterinarian practice
- Pre-registered Microchip
- Collar for cats and dogs

DONATE ITEMS:
Drop your items off at BARKING DAY. The Mobile Adoption Truck will be taking collections during the entire event.
ACC will accept new & second-hand pet items. They ask that any used items are cleaned prior to donating. ACC can accept:
- Unopened and unexpired food and treats
- Blankets, Towels, Sheets
- Leashes and Harnesses
- Crates and Carriers
- Enrichment Toys
- Unopened Litter, Pellets, and Hay
WISH LISTS:
Purchase needed items directly from ACC’s wish lists with Chewy and Amazon, and they will be shipped to animals in need in ACC Care Centers.
